song of the day (tuesday, but actually already wednesday)

Radiohead - Down Is the New Up

(version with Thom Yorke himself on the piano, i've only got this from youtube actually, as i don't know the cd it's on. maybe on the second cd of In Rainbows? pay attention to the rhythm of the piano, reminds me of The Pyramid Song)

--- a small update (approximately 40 minutes later, for he/she who cares) ---

apparently on youtube different versions can be found. i usually don't post links here, but now i would like to make an exception (and maybe i should do this more often?). should you want to listen, make sure it's this version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ9le9DMd4Q

...have fun!

...and if not: have fun!

song of the day

(woops, and i've already broken the promise i made in my previous post. i'll try to make it up this week... but for now: here's the song of the day)

a message to my 5,12 billion gazillion fans

from now on i will try to write a post weekly, because i've been so busy/lazy/absent-minded/indifferent/afraid to fail (you may decide which one it's going to be) that i've only been posting every twenty years or so. let's see if i can keep this promise.

oh, and this message does not count as one of the posts; this week's post was the poem below, which i did not even write myself (i only did the lousy translation)

anyway: hurray!

poem of inner peace

Put your head like so in my arm
so that from your forehead to your mouth my gaze may glide
over the bridge of your nose
Put your head like so
On your mouth I put my hand
rest assured

(this is a translation of a poem by Antwerp poet Paul van Ostaijen.)

happiness # 22 / sadness # 4

PJ Harvey's song When Under Ether. the haunting beauty of human-born inner pain. and yet somewhat uplifting. more than one could or might imagine. stays with you a very, very long time, as long as you listen, listen, listen.
