to think about all the things going on while i am writing this... it is truly insufferable, and intolerable. all we seem to be able to do is steal each other's breath. for no apparent reason but to choke in our own anxieties over the possible lack of air out there.

will i ever better the world? will we?


sorry if i sound like a tormented adolescent kid. but this is how i feel. so actually, fuck sorry. it is what it is. let things be that are.

the winds sweaping through this empty landscape

recently i have been posting less and less. now i know there are millions of fans out there (*ahem*) waiting for more posts, but this is just to say: there's a holiday going on here, and my mind is floating somewhere in space and not exactly up to doing much writing. but here are some hints and tips to keep you amused and improve the overall quality of your life (yup, i can be very, very prescriptive):

- read Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea
- watch American Beauty
- go jogging every time it rains
- listen to Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here
- learn to appreciate the sensation of contact between your skin and the air
- learn to fly (especially when you are passing corn fields: look at them and take off)
- make more stupid jokes
- make picking your nose a full-time hobby
- buy a colouring book, it's a wonderful pastime

so, enough Wear Sunscreen-like tips (the song is better than this post anyway), i'm off. somewhere.

bush turned buddhist

George W. Bush vetoed a measure on stem cell research. now, i do not wish to take any position in favour of or against stem cell research, but what i would like to focus on for a second is the rhetoric Mr Bush used. he said that "Destroying human life in the hopes of saving human life is not ethical," and that the US is "a nation founded on the principle that all human life is sacred." (i quote from today's The New York Times)

well...

destroying human life in the hopes of saving human life is exactly what waging wars means (unless of course you're doing it not to save human lives but rather for some other, more obscure reason). and is there any Iraqi citizen out there who can still believe that the US is indeed a nation regarding all human life as sacred?

i guess all human lives are equal, but some human lives are more equal than others.
